Laitan Eyiowuawi – LL.M

Laitan is a solution-orientated solicitor, specialising in private client, property, and commercial law. He has concurrent qualifications in England and Nigeria and almost 30 years’ experience in both contentious and non-contentious areas of law. He strives to make every day count.

Laitan regularly acts for clients in cross-border transactions, litigations, successions, property, and trust matters. He has advised the national oil corporation in Nigeria and has been called upon by a notable City law firm and other firms for his opinion on cross-border probate matters. As well as advising private oil and gas companies in Nigeria, Laitan has also carried out legal audits and due diligence for leading banks and blue-chip companies in Nigeria.

He previously worked in Legal Compliance at King’s College University of London, where he guided the College through particularly complex aspects of the law, preparing guidance notes and precedents in the field of data protection, freedom of information, regulation of investigatory powers and various discrimination laws.

He was the Treasurer of Early Bird Speakers (a London based charter of Toastmasters International) and also a member of the Governing Board of a school in a London Borough.

Laitan is a long-suffering Arsenal football fan and the Super Eagles of Nigeria. He is also an eclectic lover of languages and travelling.
